Meet Harriott’s Future Residents

From downsizers to families and investors, Harriott’s premium design and idyllic location appeals to a range of buyers. Meet the future residents of Harriott, Armstrong Creek.

John and Judy, Downsizers

For downsizers, John and Judy, Harriott at Armstrong Creek offers a quiet and exclusive community that perfectly complements their lifestyle.

John is a safety advisor who works on construction sites around Geelong and Warnambool. Harriott’s location on Barwon Heads Road will make it very easy for him to get to work each day.

For Judy, Harriott is not only close to her sister in Barwon Heads but also close to the local dog beach.

“I have a beautiful dog that I love walking along the beach. Harriott is also just 10 minutes drive from my sister’s house, which is particularly appealing for me,” she says.

The couple has selected a corner block that is fronting the park. They plan to build a three-bedroom home that will support John’s disability and their lifestyle needs for many years to come.

“We currently live on a corner block, and we enjoy the extra space. This is our sixth time building so we know exactly what we want in our new home,” says Judy.

John and Judy were particularly drawn to Harriott’s design and location. Harriott is bookended by a shopping village and the Sparrovale Wetlands providing access to everyday essentials.

“Harriott is close to everything we need; the shopping village is still growing, and we’re excited to see all the amenities that will be available to us in the new and growing community.”

Nathan and Jeff, Upgraders

Nathan and Jeff had always dreamed of living close to the beaches near Geelong, however, it wasn’t until Covid-19 that they were able to make the transition to Harriott at Armstrong Creek.

The couple, who currently live in Melbourne’s western suburbs, switched to working from home during the lockdown and no longer require a home close to Melbourne’s CBD, making the lifestyle of Harriott at Armstrong Creek more attractive.

“We regularly visit the beaches near Geelong with our two dogs and had always wanted to live in the local area. However, it wasn’t until we transitioned to working from home that we could finally make the switch to Harriott at Armstrong Creek,” says Nathan.

“Harriott is just a short drive from the local train station and the ring road making it easy to get to Melbourne’s CBD when we need to.”

Nathan and Jeff were driving their mother and two dogs to the local dog beach when they first passed Harriott at Armstrong. They bonded over their love of dogs with Joyce, Harriotts’ Estate Manager, and were instantly drawn to Harriott’s attractive lifestyle.

“We cannot wait for our first summer in Armstrong Creek. We have always wanted to live close to the beach,” he says.

Harriott’s design particularly appealed to us. The park runs across the masterplan giving us a place to connect with our community and a sense of privacy for every home. It’s also close to the local shopping village, which will make it easy for our parents when they come to visit.”

The couple plan to build a contemporary double-storey home, with a customised floorplan.

“Nothing is standard in our homeWe have customised the floorplan to suit our lifestyle. Our new home will have separate working spaces for us, a large outdoor area for entertaining, and a ground floor space for our parents when they come to visit,” says Nathan.

“We’ve selected a modern façade with contrasting brick and black features. We’re opting for a contemporary look in our home.”

 Tara and Adrian, Upgraders

From the moment Tara and Adrian began their search for their next family home they aspired to live in a community like Harriott at Armstrong Creek.

The couple who live and work in Grovedale had seen Harriott’s signage around the local area and were very familiar with its location. According to Tara, it was Harriott’s unique location and park design that convinced them to buy.

“Harriott is perfectly located close to everything our growing family needs. Our kids are within walking distance of school and the local shopping village will make it very easy to pick up groceries,

“The park is located right in front of our block. It’s so close to home and will provide a safe environment for our three children to play in. It will essentially be an extension of our front yard,” she says.

The young family will be amongst the first 83 homes anticipated to settle their land and commence construction on their new home. The family has chosen to build with Metricon. Tara is especially excited about her new kitchen.

“The house design was suited to our lifestyle. We were even able to customise the kitchen layout to suit our needs. It will be my dream kitchen,” she says.

Their excitement for their new home and community is so great that the family regularly visits Harriott for a glimpse of their block. They have also started transitioning to enjoy the local life, with one of their daughters attending Oberon Secondary School nearby.

Reminiscing on the support they have received, Tara explains why purchasing at Harriott has been one of the best decisions they’ve made.

“Buying a block of land and building a house is huge. We have found Harriott to be affordable and everyone has been super supportive,” she says.

From the moment we made the decision to buy at Harriott and chosen the house design, we’ve had no regrets – it’s exactly what we want.”

Ilana and Desmond, Investors

When Ilana and Desmond first visited Harriott’s sales suite, they were particularly drawn to the community’s urban design.

Harriott’s park and landscape design was really nice and integrated well with surrounding amenities. These attributes are likely to increase the value of our investment.”

“There is a more inclusive feel to the community at Harriott,” said Ilana.

The couple has been actively building their portfolio with properties in the Geelong region over the past couple of years.

“We’re seeing a lot of interest in Armstrong Creek from Melbourne MoversWe have purchased a smaller lot and plan to build a home that would perfectly suit an older couple or first home buyer,”  she says.

“House prices in the local area have held steady which makes it a good investment. Now that people are working from home, it makes it an even better investment.”

Despite living locally to Harriott, Ilana works in a corporate role and commutes to Melbourne’s CBD twice a week.

“I catch the V-line to Melbourne twice a weekIt’s easy to get to work and completely worth the commute for the tree change and sea change offered here,” she says.

When the couple were first searching for a place to live, they were looking at opportunities in coastal towns such as New Castle, Wollongong, and Armstrong Creek. After meeting Joyce, the Harriott Estate Manager, they were easily persuaded to choose Armstrong Creek.

“Joyce was the first real estate agent we met in Geelong and she convinced us to purchase in Armstrong Creek. It’s so close to Melbourne and has a lot of potential – there are lots of amenities coming to the area.”
