Harriott’s newest play space, Hilltop Park, is one step closer to becoming a reality, with approval received this week from City of Greater Geelong.
Hilltop Park will be built on a 7,500 sqm site adjacent to Central Park – it is set to boast a multi-sports zone featuring a half-basketball court and netball hoops, a shelter with picnic tables, swings, climbing structures and a sand play area.
When creating the design for Hilltop Park, Jinding consulted with Harriott residents and the wider community to help determine what features the park should include.
The initial concept plan included fantastic community-driven ideas, such as BBQ facilities, a water play zone, and balance beams. Unfortunately, these elements were not accepted in the final approved design by Council.
We thank the community for all their feedback; we will continue to advocate for improving our public amenities in future open spaces whilst working in close consultation with Council to adhere to their planning guidelines.
Now we’ve received approval, we’re expecting works on Hilltop Park to commence in Spring 2024, with anticipated completion in mid-2025.
